Networking Nugget by Casey Eberhart

By  Casey

<<Networking Nugget>> Today should be easy. Look at your desk right now. Surely you have 5 business cards laying around on top. They are just lingering, so let’s fix that! Your nugget is to either throw them in the trash OR send them a quick email letting them know you will be in touch with them in the next week or so. Better an email than let them set for too long.

O.K. I admit I had many more than 5 business cards on my desk when I wrote this, but not any more!  Here is the deal, If you are just storing cards on your desk as a form of procrastination, that’s O.K. so long as you understand these will NEVER turn into full blown business relationships without you doing any work.  It might even help if you take a couple of minutes while facebooking today and separate the cards into stacks by importance.  Just letting the cards stack up only let’s us feel like we are or have been busy but it moves us nowhere closer to adding the person to our network.  I promise it will feel quite liberating when you are able to free yourself of a few cards or even better yet, taking a step towards adding them to your network.

I would like to take a second to say Thank You for being a reader of TheIdealNetworker and many thanks if you have shared one of these <<NetworkingNuggets>> with Facebook.

Give someone an AWESOME day!!
